Two years ago, I fell and injured myself and was having pain in my left hip and both knees. My job involves running up and down three flights of stairs daily as a crisis counselor at a special needs school in North Jersey and my passion is running my dogs in the Pine Barrens and in dog agility competitions throughout New Jersey, Staten Island, Pennsylvania and Delaware. I needed to be pain free and in top form.

I was referred to an orthopedic surgeon for evaluation and MRI's and he sent me to his physical therapy group. After numerous treatments I showed no improvement. I started wearing knee braces in order to get through the days and I had to walk sideways up and down stairs for stability and to tolerate the discomfort. When this physician suggested surgery, I asked for a second opinion and visited a different orthopedic surgeon. The second physician referred me to ProCare and Glen Smyth. Glen treated me two to three times a week for five months, gave me exercises to do at home, made suggestions that would benefit me after the stress of dog competition and helped me to return to my daily activities without knee braces and essentially pain free. I consider my therapy a success and would highly recommend Glen to anyone who needs physical therapy.

I had total bi-lateral hip replacement due to degenerative arthritis. I returned home after two weeks and went for physical therapy at ProCare Rehabilitation in Colts Neck. Glen Smyth and his staff are terrific and the atmosphere at ProCare is very upbeat. They made what was a very difficult situation as positive and fun as I never thought it would be. Above and beyond all that, because of the care I received, my recovery has exceeded all expectations. Six months after the surgery, I was back running my plumbing contracting company full-time and training and teaching martial arts again. In a big way because of Glen and his crew at ProCare, I am living with a better quality of life.
